I tried resetting the device, it did not fix the issue...
Then I called my phone and left a voicemail and then checked my voicemain and it removed the voicemain notification... I think it get a notice from the carrier about removing the notice and the fist time my phone missed this ntoice...
In one of my old pda phone (I think this is my 5th) I was able to reset the voicemain icon on a menu somewhere... I can't find it in this phone with WM05
Ditto here...had two voicemails, picked them up, and still got the notification; no amount of resetting made it go away. It's the first bug that I found on this release, and hope it will be fixed by the radio update (if there's one). Lucklily most people email me!
Edit: Found info about this on the 6700 board. Be sure to hit * twice before you hang up after checking voicemail (it will disconnect you automatically). This fixed the problem for me.
Yes, I got this after someone left a voicemail for me. Soft reset didn't fix it. Only leaving a voicemail for myself, then checking it fixed the problem.
I wonder if this is because the WM5 update only updated the "PDA" portion of the phone, not the radio, like an "official" update supposedly will.
*228 option 1 gets rid of the voicemail icon. I have the problem on one of my i730s but not the other. I noticed on the one with the problem that the phone app will say "Roaming" instead of Verizon Wireless. *228 option 1 will get rid of the roaming message and the VM message. A soft reset after *228 option 1 and the Roaming message comes back.
Yes and make sure you tell them does it make a difference that I have WM5 on this device? LOL no seriously we gave up the right to call them once we did this LOL.
I read somewhere that this has to do with some file (type of log file or database file) where the phone stores the "count" of the new voice messages, being corrupted.
It suggested doing a hard reset. I did a hard reset, turned off voice mail notification on the mail box(through Verizon) and go in to the sounds/notifications settings on the phone, go to the notifications tab, use the drop down and select "Phone: Voice Mail" and uncheck the box that says "Display message on the screen" After all of this, I finally got rid of the phantom voice mail notifications.
I have now installed Phone Alarm, and re-enbled the voice mail notification option in my mailbox, and everything is working perfectly! I hope this helps.

so the indicator has arrived. there is no way in heck I could hard reset, it would be hours if not several days of adjustments to get me back to this setup.
I got it once... indicator popped up, I checked the voicemail to find an empty mailbox, and 10 seconds later the indicator was gone. Didn't think anything of it, actually. Hmm...
