calander entries spontaneously changed dates?

something really weird happened today. most of my calander items are now showing 1 day early, It was normal this morning. I did not sync or anything. for example independace day shows up on the 3rd of July. Holloween is October 30. Birthday's set in contacts are in their right place. Timed appointments seem to be correct, but all day events are shifted 1 day early. This is so annoying. It will take me forever to delete them all, and then who knows what will happen after my next sync.

I am using SD WM5 update and agenda fusion. these entries are shifted both in agenda fusion and the built in calander. What is going on?? Will a sync make double entries or just screw up my computer entries which are now correct?

anyone know what file calander entries are stored in? I think I'll delete it and then sync.

You probably never setup the Time Zone on your i730. By default the i730 with WM5 doesn't walk you through the choice of Time Zone. Click the Date Today plugin and choose the right time zone. It will probably fix itself.

Well, you're right that I didn't set my time zone, but setting it did not fix the problem. I'm not sure I understand why you thought that was the cause. Holloween is never on October 30 no matter what time zone your in. But thanks for the reply.

Actually it is probably due to your timezone... I wrote a BIG explanation as to how Microsoft handles the dates with the pda phones. They use the time the appointment was made, and depending on the device that was used (Outlook or the PDA), the date is based upon that time zone and changes based upon what it sees.

So for example I create an appointment with my time zone set to eastern time in NYC in Outlook and sync it to my phone, and if my phone was set to Pacific time (I think the i730 is by default), then the time on the i730 would be different. So if the appointment was at Noon, it would show up as 7AM. So with all day events, it would change the day, and earlier. It used to span two-days, but I think it's moving the days now.

I would say do this. Make sure the dates are correct in Outlook and make sure your computer time zone is correct. Next change the timezone to the correct one on the phone, and then delete the partnership on the computer until their aren't any left. Now sync the PDA and when ActiveSync asks you how you want to handle the conflicts, tell it to overwrite the device. It should adjust itself, and everything will be set correct. Or worse case, do a hard reset on the i730, and set it back up, making sure you set the time zone before syncing, and make sure Outlook is set correctly.

If it's only the Holidays that are messed up. you can also arrange all your dates by category, which will group all the holidays together, delete them in the category view since you can easily select multiple dates (this is in outlook), and then in the Options menu of Outlook under the calendar settings, you can add the holidays back.

One of those should fix it.

wow... thank you for that detailed reply, I dont know how you have time for all this stuff. I think your right now about time zones causing the issue but I could not fix it. everything remained fine in outlook. time zones were set correctly on both my device and the computer, but no amount of synching would fix the problem, even after removing the partnerships. I had to hard reset after 2 day worth of optimizing my 730. Im also getting sprite backup so I dont have to do this again. I cant beleive there is no simple way to just erase all calender entries in wm5. total PITA.
