SD WM5 - OS questions and problems - Where did stuff go

I have only had WM5 for a since last night, but it works great except for the following issues:

**PATH - Doesn't seem to be there is the code change... how can I use the phone as a modem... my internet connection went out this morning a I could of really used it

Data connection and phone dialing - I sync to a exchange server for emails (work) using the as messages arrive... and since I get alot of email my phone is in datamode alot... when I try to make a call it says "Operation Falied" alot... even if a force the dataconnection disconnected I get the same message... I had to switch the active synce to the exchagne server to every 60 min

has anyone else found other problems and does anyone have work arounds for these

fyi I have the yh05 dialer

Is your data connection modem still under USB? If it is it should be internal

I have the same issue since upgrading to WM5... 90% of the time when I make a call, it just sits there for about 10 seconds and then I get the error "The Operation Failed" but if I redial right after the call will go through. Any ideas?

It's listed in the instructions for installing the WM5 device, and you had to do it at least once.

It's the hold the menu down and the slide down, and hit the reset button, wait till the screen comes on, then release the menu and slide. Should say Formatting Root...

OK, took the plunge and upgraded... I'm very impressed with the installation instructions. Mike & Dave-- Super Job!

Now, however, I have been seeing an error usually when installing programs on my i730. It's complaining about gwes.exe and wants me to tell Micro$oft.

Has anyone else seen this?

I had been storing all my Notes in SafeStore. I did one last sync with my computer before upgrading. Evidently outlook wasnt syncing the notes I had in SafeStore. Of course the upgrade deleted my SafeStore, and now there are no notes in my Outlook. I'll chalk it up to stupidity unless someone here thinks there is something else I can do.

Got the "qwes.exe" error when I installed wisbar lite. I saw on the 6700 forum that your device may run faster if you turn off the error logging (you get this option when you get the qwes.exe error.

If I run wisbarlite when it is already running, instead of pulling up the menu (like on wm2003) it gives the qwes.exe error again.

If you go to the Settings -> System page, you can click on "Error Reporting" and then check Disable...

Michael or SD,
Earlier this week you mentioned needing the YH25 img. If you did get this, would it be possible to upgrade the YE05 version? This might solve the push issue some of us are having.

ps-if I missed a post about this not being able to happen, I apologize - I did a search and spent about 30 min trying to find something on it.

We didn't get it, SD figured a way to decompile the DLL in the PST and make it so the Eboot loader wouldn't check for the eboot version the YH25 users were using. So that's why there's a different file for YH25 users than YE05 users.

We never got the file, but worked around it.

Two issues so far: While using the i730 in the car while running tomtom and listening to mp3's, 1. gwes.exe crashed twice (error reporting window came up)
2. The mp3 stopped playing and a window popped up in media player stating that the 'server could not be reached....' (what server???) When I closed this popup and tried to hit play again, it said 'file could not be found.' I opened the file again from the library and it played fine. mp3's are stored on the sd card. ideas?
