Remember we are late to the WM5 game, a lof of information is already in the 6700 forum.
searched those threads b4 i posted, "vindigo" and "apl " and " apl " turn up zero hits when searching those threads . . .
checking with vindigo website turns up a screen that says they don't "recomend" WM5, but that answer is 3 months old, and thier wording leaves open the possibility the problems may be device specific
the folks at dyalog apl say they havent tested it on WM5, as they don't have a WM5 device. [their brit/nowegian company, and not particularly phone/pda centric]
I have been following the wm05 rumblings and there have not been a list of softwares that comes with the upgrade. Is is pretty much the same as any wm05 phones (word, excel, power point viewer, skype, etc...)?? Also, please let me know if the universal remote control on 2003se can still be used.

Thank you
THe remote app is still there, now I have not tested to see if it works specifically, but it does open and looks good.
No reason to cross post. Check out the OFFICIAL WM5 thread in the sticky. It has some more information as to what it has compare to the 2003 version.
It has pretty much all the defaults as well. It does not have Skype. And yes it does have the remote software.

I've been watching the WM2005 Rumblings thread closely for some time, eagerly awaiting the opportunity to upgrade to WM5.0. My critical software question: will Goodlink run smoothly on WM5.0 AKU2?
Thanks to mrailing (I hadn't thought to check it myself), I searched the 6700 forum and learned that Goodlink seems to be running poorly on AKU2, according to the few people who posted their experiences. Basically, they're saying that it will run okay for a few hours, but will then freeze, requiring a soft reset. They're claiming that Goodlink worked fine prior to their Sprint AKU/2 upgrade and the upgrade really impaired Goodlink's performance. The problems they're documenting sound very similar to the issues I was encountering before Goodlink upgraded from 4.5 to 4.7 (freezes the device regularly, requiring mutiple daily soft resets).
Without Goodlink, I'm a dead man at work. If there is a soul out there who uses Goodlink and is brave enough to do the upgrade, I'd love to hear about your experience.
This is a real bummer for me. Hopefully my IT department will enable the Push email feature on our Exchange server so I can abandon Badlink for Good.

Voice command 1.5 works
PhoneAlarm 1.30.3 seems to work mostly. Part of the signal % indicator is missing but it seems like most everything else is working
iguidance 2.1NA - works if you move where it installs. (installed to SD card/program files/inav/iguidance, when launching the app w/ maps in the same directory you get all sorts of errors. If you move it to storage card/iNav iGuidance and put your maps/exe's/snd folder and update your links everything works great.)

I decided to try and keep Photo Contacts Pro off the phone for this first test. You can do photos natively and ring tone assignments natively. Only thing I haven't found is group ringer tags, but everything else can be done without the software. I most likely will load it, but it does work without it.

I am seeing TCPMP freeze the phone when I close the app. I have SPB Plus installed and this is how I kill it. It works fine if I put it in the background. Anyone else seing this?
I am using 4.01 photo contacts pro. Michael, I was trying the same thing, but gave in and installed it after not finding a way to do group ring tones. I also was going to not install adgendus, but I really like having different icons on my calendar for different appt groups.
Has anyone had any luck getting TomTom Navigator 5 working with WM5... according to their site it supposed to work, but I can't seem to get it to install without windows giving me an error now. Had no problem on PPC2003.
adelaurentis, I can't get TomTom to install either. I an install the TomTom 5.21 patch that they posted on their website, but then to install the rest of the program (voices, BT, etc) it gives me an error.
According to their site, the patch is supposed to be installed on top of the 5.0 software already on the phone. Obviously if you can't install the original version, then it is hard to patch.
