I searched the forum on ringtones and did not see anything specific on this. Somehow I have deleted/removed the original ringtones that shipped with the i730. I googled it and did not find a place where I could download them again from the web. Can anyone provide any suggestions to how I could get them back? I have a lot of apps so I am trying to not hard reset and then load them all back on.
I follwed your instructions above and did see the Windows Default. I chose that option. Now when I go to the Ringtone Manager all that I see are "uncategorized" ringtones. These are additional ringtones that I have copied to the device. I have lost the ringtones and categories that come with the phone. Any ideas?
My guess is that they are still on your device, but hidden. Open File Explorer (or other 3rd party Explorer like Resco or Total Commander), select option to show all files.
1. In File Explorer, select option to View All Files (tab and hold on a blank area to get this feature). You can also do this will the device is sync'ed, by going to Tools/Folder Options/View on your PC.
2. Navigate to Windows directory on your device
3. Sort by Type (upper right hand drop down box)
4. Look for the Wav files
Do you see your ring tones?
I cannot help you with the Ring Tone Manager app, as I do not use it. Perhaps someone else can provide inside.

I searched my device and did not find the ringtones anywhere on there. I must have done something with them.
I think what I need are the mmf ringtones from a i730 device. I believe that they are located in the \Windows\Rings directory on the device. Is anyone willing to zip those files for me?

Another alternative, but not the best, is to do a hard reset and this will bring your phone back to factury seetings.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but.....
A few days ago, my phone ring seemed to change on its own to the "Windows Default" ringtone. I went into the Sounds & Notifications, and selected the "Phone:Incoming call" event, and all the standard ring tones are listed. However, the only ones that will work are the default, and the one named "Ringer". When I select any other ringtone, I get a message pop-up window labeld "Ring Tone Error". The message says "The ring tone file is corrupted or unavailable. Please choose a different ring tone."
I have searched, and all the ring tones are still there in the Windows directory, so they aren't missing at all. And, since they are supposed to be in the ROM, I don't even think it's possible to corrupt them. I can click on them, and it plays them in Windows Media Player, so I know they aren't corrupted.
But, for whatever reason, the Sounds & Notifications menu can't seem to play them.
I did do a hard reset, and then they all are there and work fine. But, if I do a restore to a previous date, I am again presented with non-working ringtones.
Before I do a hard reset and re-set up everything from scratch, I thought I would ask and see if there is something I am missing, or something that I could do before I go through the excrutiating process of setting up everything.
Answering my own question, just so this is complete. I restored a back-up from a month ago, and the ring tones worked fine with that back-up. I then re-installed any changes made during the past month. The issue was when I upgraded to the newest version of IM+. It somehow corrupted my ringtones.
