PhoneHelper does not seem to cooperate with PhoneLock
If you load both in Startup:
- PhoneLock works
- PhoneHelper is dead
- context menu button is dead
If you load PhoneHelper before PhoneLock:
- PhoneHelper works
- phone locks but cannot be unlocked by return button or by calendar/contact button sequence
For now I have had to unload PhoneHelper as the lock problem is more severe disability of the Samsung phone.
Re PhoneLock: To me the interface should be the same as Nokia, Motorola or any other phone... If the phone is locked, you must open it or push the correct key sequence to unlock ALLLLLL buttons. The only exception is that the volume button mutes the ringer during a call.
SuperDave, just a couple of suggestions (others might have already made these suggestions; if so, consider my comments as a vote in favor those suggestions):
1. An option to disable the automatic locking if the phone is in the cradle (I think I figured out how to do this by editing the registry, but having this option available in the forthcoming configuration utility would be much more convenient).
2. An option to disable the hang-up hardware button on the phone. I have Verizon's universal PDA phone case (the one with separate belt connector, not the one with the belt connector sewn into it). The case is so snug against the phone that I constantly find myself hanging up on people accidentally when I go to put the phone in the case or when I try to pull it out of the case. I desperately need a way to disable the hardware hang-up button on the phone.
If I think of any others, I'll let you know.
Jay

I've never seen that software before, thanks! Does this solve the bluetooth at startup issue that many of us have been experiencing, especially with PhoneAlarm?

It should.

I use phonealarm and have no BT issue at startup. The one thing that does happen is BT is turned on at startup by Phonealarm because it is set in my profile to turn on BT for that profile. If I change it to Not start BT for that profile it does not enable at startup.

One question. Phonelock is great but it makes me unlock twice. After the first poweron I press and hold the "back" key, the screen goes black. I power on again I press and hold the "back" key then everything works great.

Program crashed my phone and I had to hard reset. After install I could not send/receive phone calls, get on the 'net, or use Wi-Fi. Seems like a great program, but I'm not about to re-install it just to reload all my other programs.
A temporary work around (sorry it is kind of long).
What I have done as both phonehelper and phonelock are necessary for me is this. I moved the phonelock program from the startup folder to the start menu folder and soft reset. What this does is it allows phonehelper to fully load and then once the soft reset is complete, I open the slide and press the Windows key.
Viola the start bar opens and then type the phonelock hotkey (the letter that has the underscore under it in the phonelock name within the start menu). This loads phonelock and allows the two to play together somewhat. I say somewhat, because what I have discovered is that the unloack sequence of the calendar and contact buttons no longer unlocks the phone.
I found out through dumb luck that by pressing the UN and LOCK on the touch screen will in fact unlock the screen, and is the only way that I have found out how to unlock the phone when the two programs are playing together on the I730. It may seem like a pain, but for me with the shortcut set up it is pretty easy and routine.
Note phonelock will stay active until either it is unloaded or the phone is soft reset, then just restart through the menu. Also the back key no longer locks the phone with this combo.
This sequence may seem a pain, but a necessary evil to go through when you carry the phone in your pocket such as I do (at least I no longer find my coat or pants yelling "HELLLLOOOO" at me as the phone inadvertantly dialed a contact from being in my pocket and the person is wondering why they can hear me but I am not responding to them and yes it can be embarrassing).
Hope this helps others, as it does allow the two to play together somewhat.
