You still have the 4.99 plan now with the 2000 sms as well? I was thinking about calling bavk to see if i can add the IN 5.00 plan again.. and see if a CS would just do it without noticing the pda feature code.

Why would you want to do this?

Mark, cause I am going to be using the 2000 sms just for the exchange autd feature... i also use txt messaging a lot to friends on verizon. With the amount of emails I get, it'll suck those 2,000 in a month easy.
Just got off the phone with a helpful person, I prefaced my conversation with I need to remove the "IN" messaging and she had to look to find the PDA SMS 2000 Allowance but apparently someone near her was able to point it out, Seems to be tricky to find.
Its on my plan now and should be good to go. thanks for the help and info.
thats fine but i use a lot of txt messages as is, so now that I am going to use the exchange feature that'll add to it. and those are not included in the "IN" package.
I don't think you are getting what this package is. The 2000 txt message plan includes 2000 messages you can use for anything. I doubt whether your exchange server is going to send you 2000 messages durning the month, and if it does, so far I haven't head about anyone being charged above and beyond it, even when people use 2300+ messages. I also think with this package it DOES include the "in" network package with it. I haven't read anything else about it NOT including it, even when I asked about it, I was told that it includes "in" network messages.
Verizon is doing this for people with an Exchange server, since it requires TXT messaging to sync (at least until Exchange 2003 gets updated to the most recent SP, and we get WM5 on our device). Verizon also knows we want a TXT message plan, but they don't know what messages are what. They do know which ones are sent in network, but they really don't know which ones are from the exchange server, and which one is from your buddy from Cingular. So they give you 2000 messages, figuring that this will keep most people happy, and they give you "in" messaging as well.
So there is no reason to "request" the "in" package, you get it free with unlimited data, oh and because you have an exchange server.

Or you can be like me and not even use an exchange server and just have 2000 text messages to use with your friends for free instead of paying for any type of text message

No...... that's not what you are doing and...... that's not what you meant to say!

Has anyone out there with the 2000 pda sms allowance actually gone over the 2000 text messages I wonder. I want to see if you actually get charged for going above that number or not.
Thanks to all who have contributed to this post and especially for whomever first pointed out that the free PDA 2000 Allowance was available. I signed up last week.

As long as you are using a Pocket PC device with an unlimited data plan you can add this feature, so yes it should work with the i830.

mrailing I am new to these boards and all I have to say is you are the man, you've been such a great help, thank you! (p.s. don't mean to be off topic!)
Just to add my experience to the thread.... I called the standard CS line and asked to add the Zero $ 2000 SMS PDA Allowance" The rep found the plan in less than 30 Seconds and added it to my plan...I logged onto the web portal and saw that it was on my account!
Thanks to all for posting and providing information about this!
As a note to others...If you are thinking about adding this I'd do it soon...with the messenging and security pack for WM5 being out now, VZ may withdraw adding this to plans and could remove it as phones become WM5 AU2....
No luck for me. I'll keep trying. I had a very nice rep that kept putting me on hold to check with other reps and her superviser. Her final statement to me was that this does not exist.
The exact code is "2000 SMS PDA".. i hadto call about 4 times total i think... What I wanna know is are they tracking these or not... what will happen if i go over... is IN included...
Location: MD.. no GA... no MD... damn this is getting old....

Your statement to her would be to ask if she's willing to bet her paycheck on that?
