Call tell them to look for the 2000 SMS, as mentioned above, and tell them you need this for your exchange server. Reread this whole thread, as some people have called in upwards of 5 times.

Heh, as many emails as I get I would need more than 3000 sms a month... The time I called in they gave me all kinds of grief but eventually did find it. I found out just using there Wireless Sync web to grab my mail via imap worked for now. It sure would be nice to ditch Wireless Sync and use AUTD from my hosted exchange account though!

GOOD GOD!
I called and after waiting 20 minutes with the data tech he informed me the code was SMS2K. Hopefully this will help others to get it as well.

No joy for 2000 SMS Message

I just spent the last 30 minutes on the phone with CS, and ended up speaking with a supervisor. They are telling me that the plan option no longer exists, as it was offered in 2004 and I would have had to activiate my phone before July 1, 2004 to even be considered for it. The fact that I am on an unlimted broadband plan, and use a PDA phone with an exchange 2003 server didn't matter, the guy was downright rude. I told them about the SMS2k code, and they said it is just something not offered at this time. Go figure...

Success after all

Surprise of Surprises, I just got a call back from the supervisor I spoke with, and he 'did some more research' and low and behold, he did find that he was able to add the $0 SMS 2000 Allowance option to my account after all.

PDA SMS 2000 ALLOWANCE - $0 $0.00 is now showing up on my account details.

Heh, I called after lunch for the heck of it, removed my $15 text plan, and had them add this SMS2K plan, and it took less than 5 minutes. The lady said that when I went from the xv6600 to the i730 they should have just did that for me the other day, as if it were just something they should do off the bat. Oh well, now we shall see if I can keep text usage with my hosted Exchange under 2000 with a combo of peak/check every 15 minutes, and after hours autd.

Just a reminder to everyone. I see some approach this like it's some super secret deal that you have to get lucky to get. When you call keep in mind this is a deal that is available to you and that you SHOULD GET. Don't be shy because you think that the house of cards will come down if you don't press for it. It's OWED to you.

Person,

Try again, re-read this WHOLE thread, there are many different suggestions as to mentioning the exact name of the SMS package as well as how they should look in there system. Yes some people have called 5 times.

Thanks for all the info on getting this changed on my account.

FYI, don't call after business hours because they don't have a clue. I called twice on Sunday and got nowhere. Called Monday @ 09:00 and it took about 5 minutes to get it done!

Can anyone help me with a transcript? I know what I want, but I don't know how to ask for it.

Location: NYC

mentioned the SMS2K plan, they mentioned that they see it, but cannot add to any current plans.

I mentioned that I have unlimited data plan, exchange server, PPC.

You have it correct. You have to call a couple times. It took me three tries.

Just say that "my IT guy told me to call and ask for the 2,000 PDA SMS plan he thinks you can find it under SMS2k. We have Exchange server and he wants us to get this feature added to our numbers".

Send a message via Yahoo to BioTech

For everyones info I have used this feature since June of this year and you can send out and receive without being charged also you can go over you 2000 limit and still not be charged. I had one month that had a total of 4200 incoming messages and 15 outgoing and never was charged.

Hope this helps.

Ok.... I called again tonight. Talked to a regular customer support person first. They were able to identy the "SMS2K" plan within their system, but needed someone from data support to actually add the plan to my account.

This was the 4th time calling. 3 of the times I talked with someone from Data Support. One of the times, I got this fricking woman and I quote, "Sir, I do this every day and have never heard of anything like that." She also refused to look it up in the computer as well. I basically told her that she was wrong, and that there were a forum full of people that disagreeded. I asked her to look it up again, but again she refused.. So I tried back later.

Anways, called tonight. Got data support. Guy found code, had to look up my account and make sure that my phone/account fell under the guidelines of the plan. Put it on there...

Thanks for the info guys....

It's not a good thing to tell them "that there were a forum full of people that disagreeded". You should have said that your IT guy in your company told you to do this.

Agreed. Also, if you are on your 4th time, it's about time you asked to speak to a supervisor. And if the supervisor can't get it done, ask to speak to their supervisor. If that fails, tell them you would like their name, employee ID, and CS location. You then call back, get the plan added and ask to file a complaint against that employee.

The reason so many of these CS reps are acting like morons is because they get away with it, they know the customer will just hang up and if they call back they'll get another rep and they don't have to deal with you. I get the plan added the first time, didn't have any issues, but you can bet if I did, I would NOT get off the phone until it was added. There are too many people in this thread telling you everyone else it IS a valid option to take anything but a "yes sir" answer......

sorry to rant, but ****ty CS is a pet peeve of mine.... I've found through trial and error that "Are you willing to bet your job on it?" usually gets you a change in attitude real quick....

CS is a huge pet peve of mine as well.

The last and final guy I talked to in Data Support was willing to give me the prior 3 people's names I had talked to and their extensions If I wanted to talk to them again.. .... I said no thank you at the time, cause I didnt have another couple of hours to blow on the phone... Maybe another night though...
