Wow must be a lot of people doing ActiveSync w/ Exchange 2003.... FWIW verizon will be able to tell if you are getting your SMS from an exchange server based on packet size and the origination.
I just called and told them I want the plan by name. They set me up and told me that SMS is SMS and it would not matter from wence the messages came or went. This morning I was told this was not available at all. I guess after one month we will find out what the truth is.

Things like this do get added to the FAQ when I get time to add them. I do it when I have a good day of nothing to do and when I have the time to write up each area and do the editing. This will get added to my list, but when items are hot like this, there is no reason to add it since it stays on the first page quite often. It's when the thread starts to slip and things get finalized that they get added to the FAQ, or when the information isn't in your face, this way other people can benefit from it when it slips.

Just to update on this thread, I called the busness support center this morning and asked for the 0$ 2000 SMS PDA Plan. The rep spent about 2 minutes typing and said it would take affect tonight at midnight.
Just called and the rep put me on hold for a couple of minutes, came back and said she had located the package and would add it to my account replacing my text message package and that it would be effective immediately. Very cool.

Thanks for the heads up!
My experience exactly! Thanks so much for getting this information out to us all.
Once again, I profit immensely from the knowledge and experience of others.
It replaces any text message plan you have, and they told me I can send and receive, but if I go over the 2000 then I will be charged per message. This plan is just like the original plan, but you get it for free, get 2000 messages, and it's meant for those that use Exchange server.

Seems like the regular CS rep has no clue about the "PDA SMS 2000 ALLOWANCE $0 $0.00 " Placed me on hold to ask the data dept. Came back and told me this feature is no longer offered. Guees I was too late.
**UPDATE**
2nd attempt: Regular CS, No clue.... Consulted with Data Support and came back with nothing.
Call again, as mentioned above. Some of them have no clue. It might take 2 or 3 calls to get it added.

**Update**
3rd attempt: Regular CS, No Clue, Asked him to look further. Placed me on hold and found it.
I asked him what the trick was, he told me is embedded with the messaging features. Just have to go and look for it because, its not displayed on the screen. Maybe this can assist.
After reading all this, I called CS and it took about 3 min to get it found and added to my plan. I just confirmed this by logging into my VZW online account, and it is displayed as part of my plan.
I called in and added it to my plan. The rep I spoke with was very knowledgeable, and called several people to verify the plan. He didn't understand why they would be giving it away without any charge, so he called 3 different departments (his supervisor, the SMS department, and Data Support) to verify that it would work and not charge me anything extra. In the end he added it, and said I shouldn't be charge anything for up to 2000 SMS.
I posted this first along time ago. Search the forum. This is not considered a feature or plan. This just added to your current plan. I have had it from the beginging. Yes it does include sending or receiving regular sms messages. The best part you can go over the 2000 and they will not charge you I do it all the time.

I just callled and found out if you have this plan:
Core Choice for Bus 450 Any Unl IN Unl N&W Unl Pda $39.99 0605
You can not get this SMS plan added to your account.
The Core Choice above inludes the unlimited PDA data feature for 40.00 month.
They siad I whould have to get rid of the bundled voice/pda data plan and get a regular voice plan and unlimited data feature seperatly. So 39.99 for voice and 44.99 for unl. PDA data. Then I can get the 2000 SMS text free.
So I said never mind.........
