Has anyone out there with the 2000 pda sms allowance actually gone over the 2000 text messages I wonder. I want to see if you actually get charged for going above that number or not.
I am the one who has went over the 2000 limit. I actualy ran it up to 2300+ and was not charged for the overage. Hope this helps.
Look up at the earlier posts someone actually had a screen shot of their feature page. i used that to help me. it is not only for business... Just tell them you have an exchange server at work, other people called from your company and did the same. thats what i did... the first time they asked what their number was i said I'd call back.. called right back and the girl just put it on without a fuss. i think it is all in who you speak too. I spoke with someone from CS NOT data.
I dealt with a slew of issues over the last week and a half with VZW and my i830, all the way from pre-sales to post-sales an all around horrible experience, so while I asked to add this feature code twice specifically it was never done, these were all after thoughts on phone calls regarding other matters, however the 3rd call resulted in SUCCESS! I said something like this, "My IT guy sent me an email asking me to call you guys so I can get the SMS 2K Allowance, the feature code is SMS2K, he says I need this before he can set me up on the email server" The lady said, "oh wow, cool 2,000 free messages I wonder if I can add that to (voice muffled)" LOL that was funny as I think she wanted to put it on her own account - wouldn't you think they get a discount? Or atleast some kind of free features? The CSR was able to take care of this without any assistance from the data team.
Haha, people quit asking questions and just add it while you still can. Shot I might even try to get it added to my friends non PDA phones. Could probably just make up a story how they connect their pda to their phone, sooner or later might actually find a dumb enough rep. Esspecially the reps who work at like 3AM on the weekends and really don't wanna be there.

Be careful you don't spoil it for us all.

VZW, It's 2009! Time to embrace technology, not suppress it. - oops too late I've moved on over to the iPhone w/ AT$T!
I had a similiar experience. After talking to her supervisor and the IT dept the CS rep said she would add it. This was only after she grilled me as to why I was switching from pop to exchange and why I hadn't had any activesync sms messages yet (I hadn't even set the darn thing up!).
Then, she told me not to tell anyone about the 2,000 free sms plan, like it should be some kind of secret! What a scam if you ask me.
Called tonight, still on the phone getting a refund for previous months under the $9.99 plan . Gave them the speil about "my IT guy said to call and ask about sms2k plan." I tried calling CS, got the run around for 20 minutes about how they dont have it anymore. For those interested, call data tech support, give the "the IT guy said to call about the SMS2K plan" speil and try to read a page or two of this thread before you call so you can know some of the lingo.
Edit: All done & off the phone. In reference to the refund I mentioned earlier... Let whoever you are talking to know that you didnt know about the SMS2K plan and that you'd been paying for the service previously! In my case... After waiting for about 15 minutes on hold the woman helping me came back and said "the wait was well worth it, you now have a credit of $123.74 on your account. Thank you for using verizon wireless, have a good night."

After my last attemp I was told this was for business customers only. I have not had a chance to call back since. Yesterday I had a surprise in the mail. It was a change of plan notice. My first thought was they dropped my data or some other bazaar outcome due to my call the other day. Well, it was a big surprise to see they added the 2000 SMS. I guess after I got off the phone they realized they made a mistake and just added it.
I'm a business user and added the 2000 SMS plan this morning with very little trouble. It took the rep a few minutes to find it and then I was on hold for a couple of minutes and that was it!
Worked for me. Just mentioned that my IT guy told me to call and ask for the PDA SMS 2000 Allowance with a feature code of SMS2K. Only took a couple of minutes.
Walked into a local Verizon store here in Newport News, Va and signed up for it in about 5 minutes. The rep didn't know anything about it but listened when I told him were to find it. Thanks in every way to those here for making this so easy. This plan just saved me upwards of 15 -20 dallars a month....

This last month my "testing" exchange server sent me more than 1900 messages and I also used quite a few for my normal texting. I ended up with 2154 messages being used and no additonal charges. Just thought I would add that in.

WOW! So I mean is this is an unlimited txt plan and they just "say" it is 2000? I don't get that. Between the exchange feature and normal txt messaging I use a lot of messages and I tend to worry about recieving a large bill one day. But I guess you can say your exchange server was bugging out or something.
eh, just a quick question to you guys who have the SMS2k *muffles* Does everyone have a Data plan? *muffles* Just asking from a lonely guy who's in the process of setting up an Exchange 2k3 server at home for the family with no EVDO for 20 miles.
This is the first time I have been over 1000 txt messages, and I wasn't charged, doesn't mean it won't happen the next time, just what happened this time.
Yes I have a data package, the unlimited one.
