This is a really nice solution to the audio problem. I installed it and it works fine.
I am having one odd issue, and I wonder if it is related to this hack. I am now unable to turn off bluetooth wireless. When I go to the bluetooth system settings. If I tap the bluetooth start/stop icon on the today page, I get a dialog box asking me if I want to stop bluetooth. When I tap yes, it clears but nothing else happers. When I go to the bluetooth wireless control, I get an error message that there is no bluetooth device installed and the turn on bluetooth is greyed out.
I've never seen anyone else mention that, and I haven't seen it happen. Did you disable the redirection before turning bluetooth off? It really should not matter either way but try that in case you haven't. If anyone else saw that behavior they probably would have complained about it by now.
Yes, I did try making sure that the audio was not being redirected. It is odd because my bluetooth functions all work. My headset works fine, and your redirect program work fine. I just can't turn off the bluetooth service. Wierd.
I just found the problem on another thread. This is caused by Voice Command. If I disable Voice Command, I am able to turn bluetooth on and off. Apparently, it also affects the ability to turn wifi on and off.
DOES THIS UTILITY TURN ON AND OFF BLUETOOTH? WOULD I SEE THE BLUETOOTH ICON IN THE PHONE ALARM BAR TURN OFF AND ON? BECAUSE I HAVE TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO INSTALL THE UTILITY PER JOHNTCHOW INSTRUCTIONS AND ALL I GET IS THE ERROR MESSAGE .
No, it does not turn Bluetooth off and on.
In order for sound redirection to work, Bluetooth must be turned on and your bluetooth headset must be paired and be in range.
You've done a great job on this! Thanks very much!
I turn on my BT headset, then turn on BT on my phone (using Phone Alarm's Car Profile), then run BTAudioOn from the Launcher button, then run Audible Player from the Launcher. It's great for long bike rides or car trips.
I did discover that I had to run BTAudioOn manually from the phone, not via Voice Signal using the BT headset.
How about this idea, using PA to control this function? I.e Wonder if you can trigger a profile on ring, and have it revert back to the other profile when it hangs up. I know there are some keys in there that look at the calendar to figure out the profile to use depending on the day and appointment book.
I am dumb when it comes to programming or I would look. Just thought it might be another way to make this work.
That or add some info at the end of a wav file as a trigger, much like porn sites do with their files that launch a IE page. Not sure if its that easy... but just some ideas..
i'm having just one problem. When I have BTAudio On and am listening to an audio book, if a call comes in, Audible Player pauses and I can answer the call from the headset. However, when the call ends, Audible Player starts up again through the phone's speaker, not through BT. I have to manually run BTAudio On again to hear it through the headset. That's a real pain when I'm on my bike. Is there any way to fix this? Other than that, this is a great utility!
Yes there is a way to fix it, but it's not nearly as easy as writing the original program was and I will get to it eventually but I'm busy with other things right now.
For now, I would recommend assigning a voice command to run BTAudioOn, that should work.
I have to say, this is one excellant peice of software. I have it installed on a PPC6700 (Sprint), and it works! I now have a solution until we (6700 people) figure out a way to load the broadcom stack or MS updates their profiles. Thanks for this!

I have the same problem.. when calls end, it reverts to stereo audio from the device and i have to pull out the phone to run the BTAudioOn again.. Any fix to this?
Sure, I could map a button to do that, but I'm still taking my life into my hands trying to press a button while I'm riding on my bike. If Sarcasmsra can fix this, he would be saving lives!
Here is what I do when riding: I hit my bluetooth earpiece to receive the call. Hit it again to end it. Then, hit it again to bring up VoiceSignal. I say: Open Bluetooth Audio On (which I set up in VoiceSignal to open that piece of software) and voila - I have my sound back in my bluetooth earpiece!
Hope that helps.
(I think that's what sarcasmsra was suggesting...)
