I sort of forgot about this place since I sold my MITs-M400 (the Korean counterpart of SPH-i700) and went away with a PDA phone from Cyberbank (X301). That would be over a year ago. Back before selling M400 I had talks about running video capture on i700 and stuff.
I dropped in to say, uh, hi.
See, I then sold X301 and came around to using MITs-M4300, the Korean counterpart to SPH-i730 you guys have, right up to last week. As a farewell to the device I present you some pics I had from my blog (sorry, these old entries weren't translated yet, so come for the pics only).
Wow, Wesley its so cool to read your posts again........missed you around here a lot..........those are some cool pics......dang I am jealous....dont be a stranger, stop by as much as you can. Its always good to hear from you, after all you gave us the Video feature on the i700 and I for one are always grateful to you.

Funny it worked.....the last time!!Now I am not sure what was working before they put a hole in my head!!!!
BTW, why was this moved to the Lounge? I was talking about the M4300 in general so at worst it would've been moved to the Other PPC PE forum, and since M4300 is highly close to i730 I thought it was best placed in the i730 forum in the first place. Oh well...

Welcome back, thanks to you I am still using my anycam software on the i700!.
I do have one question though for you, do you know where in Korea or online, that I can find the replacement headphones for the M4300? The korean version seems to come with a headphone set that has little buttons to control audio, and talk/end, buttons, and I imagine that would work on the i730.
Well, the remote control unit seems to be the one you're looking for. Regular earphones are plugged into the remote, and the remote in turn plugs into the device. This is sold at Samsung service centers in Korea, since it's not M4300-specific, but compatible with other recent Samsung phones of domestic release.
As for the GPS, I imagine it would work with i730 if i730 used the 24-pin connector that M4300 uses, but isn't it different over there?

Hi Wesley, thanks for all the info. Its pretty cool to see the Korean counterpart. Are there any extended batteries in your side of the world for the I730? Or does it use a different pin out for the battery too?
Just a shot in the dark. I have a feeling I already know the answer.

Extended battery... as in external? Well, Samsung makes two kinds... one's cylindrical and the other's square-shaped. But then I'm using a third-party external battery pack for emergency.

I was hoping a battery in the same form factor as the standard battery that comes with the phone with a bit more life.

Question: How do you convert the keyboard to write Korean? I tried the shortcut used for the Korean version 4800 but did not work. FYR, I use Diotek's IME. Thanks.
Well, Diotek's IME and the Korean edition of Windows Mobile's default IME both have a conversion key ('°¡' to use Korean keyboard, 'A' to use English keyboard) and that's supposed to work.

I meant to say QWERTY keyboard not the screen keyboard... Diotek works fine when I use the keyboard on the screen but could not find the way to convert the QWERTY keyboard for Korean...
Apprently, there are shortcuts for SM4800 like "Fn+Shft" and such but those functions do not work on i730.
Wesley96,
Your suggestion should still work. Once you select the input mode to be Korean in the way you said, keys you press on the keyboard will be in Korean. This worked for me until I uninstalled diotek due to device driver memory problem.
