This thing sucks power

I use Goodlink 4.5 and also use maybe 30 minutes of the phone each day. The i730 just chews away at the battery life. I have tried to take every action to minimize this, but I think the fact that I am constantly receiving emails that the wireless is just crushing my battery life. I also have bluetooth enabled for my HFL for my car and that damn blue led is always blinking. I always have to charge my i730 throughout the day via the PPC cable.

Does anyone know of any tricks to maximize battery life? Is there a new battery coming to market by any chance?

Thanks.

Hank

You could try turning off the bt when you are not using it.

Don't know how much it helps, but you could also try turning down the screen brightness. Might help when you are using it.

Send a message via Yahoo to mwfielder

Also check your backlight settings (leave it at minimal time), turn off the screen during a call (there is a setting for that), turn off the IR receive. As harley said, turn off the BT when not in use.

If you are in a poor signal area, battery life will suffer.

I don't know much about Goodlink, but can you alter how often the i730 looks for mail?

Thanks for the tips. Know you can not alter Goodlink, if a new email comes in the software instantly goes into data mode. So I am usually in data mode all day, that is the major drain of power.
