I wanted to be like JimCapraro so I also downloaded Resco 1.3.
I have to say I wasnt going to download it cause I have the free app GSPLAYER. But, I decided to download it anyway and give it a try. I am impressed so far. GSPLAYER doesnt initiate EVDO or 1X so you have to do it prior to running GS. This is a small problem for me since I use streaming music when I exercise. (Ok, so its not everyday but I am making an effort!!!)
Resco Radio does initiate internet connectivity so this ROCKS.
I love the presets, although I dont see a A,B,C option like on a car or radio's presets to give more options. I guess 8 or so presets will have to do.
So, thanks to Jim for prompting me to download this. I bow down to him. lol
But so far I am very impressed!!

Hats off to Resco for making a barely usable product - v1.0 - to a function rich must have app - v1.3 in a relatively short amount of time. The gym has wireless so instead of taking the mp3 player I just take the i730 now and stream audio.
Most local stations don't stream with an MP3 or PLS type of stream. They also don't readily advertise the url for their streaming since you'd be able to get to the stream without seeing/reading the ads.
That said, sometimes with a little hunting, due diligence, etc. you can find the URL for the stream. If you can, you most likely will need WMP to play those stations, given their format.

Can you reasonably listen to the "high quality" 128k streams? If so, then this is will be my i730's killer app.
Thanks!!
P.S. And I realize that 128k is not "high quality" audio as far as "high quality" audio goes. All is relative.
Here in Syracuse, I can stream 128 all day on EVDO using any of the streaming programs (PocketPlayer, Pocket music, Resco Radio) without a single pause to buffer.
On my 1X Verizon Treo 650 I get heavy buffering every few minutes or so , but I guess thats to be expected.
There is a HUGE difference between 1X and EVDO.
BTW I really like Resco Radio as well, Great app (the auto EVDO connection and simple interface sold me as well)

You'll generally have a good expereince in DC with this - I've been streaming since I got my XV6600 last Nov. When you're stationary (like at work) it's flawless. When you're driving around, you're a bit more prone to dead spots until you find the right routes.
Now, nobody kill me for asking this. I know that a piece of it has been asked elsewhere...but here goes...
when using Resco Radio, which is (I assume) just streaming over EV-DO or 1x the radio station, what goes on with the phone side? Is it not able to ring, and let me know that a call is coming in? Or does it interrupt the stream to give you the opportunity to accept the call or not?
