Folks, please be very careful in posting in this thread. THIS IS NOT A FAQ thread.
Only post here what software tweaking you NEED the i730 has not got now and PLEASE lets keep it reasonable........
NO posting of how can I make the Wi-Fi sync to my office server.
This is strictly for SD to look here to know what are the requests that we have as power-users that we would like to have this i730 do.
Please wait for SD to reply on an individual basis before posting hundreds of replies.

Trudging through all the posts, this issue seems to have numerous starburst impacts on software stability and the i730. Not suggesting that its VZW or Samsung or both [and no flaming here ]
Would be nice to get back to the standard 730 platform with both working together...
For me, I'd love to see the 1x/EVDO taken out of the bubble and put in it's own "slot." Since it's part of the bubble -- the bubble is almost always present -- it's hard to tell at a glance that you have voicemail or a message or whatever.
On my GSM JAM with GPRS, that icon is not part of the bubble. So if I see the bubble it usually means that something requires my attention.
The other minor niggle I have is those of us who have dumped VS for VoiceCommand find that we have to disable VC before every soft reset, then re-enable it. If not, it will kill bluetooth.
Oh -- and maybe I'm missing it but, when using the hardware keyboard there still seems to be constant need for the stylus -- for instance, if I'm writing an SMS or email -- wish I could send without having to move back to the touchscreen.
The one item that may, in the end, force me to take back this phone is the misearble bubble. If we can come up with ANY way to see what's inside the bubble without tapping the screen (ie button shortcut, access using directional pad, etc.) then my view of this device will change completely.

Here, Here!! This is the numer one issue for me, as well.
Another top concern would be the bug which causes the phone to lockup (and requires a soft reset) when the keylock is on. Not sure this is part of SD's jurisdiction, however. Should really be part of a bug fix from Samsung.
having wifi work while the phone is working as well.
also, some sort of blinking light (green if the phone is on and there is reception, and red if the phone is off and there is no reception). It would be nice to know when the phone was actually on other than turning on the screen to check.
My fix items:
1. Backlight turns off when call connects
2. Revamp notification schemes - may be VZ and network related but very unreliable at present
3. WiFi and phone can't co-exist
4. BT "stayon" option
5. Able to create a dialup connection to ISP - may not be HW possible - some say yes, some say no
In general undo (provide options for) all the stuff that VZ disabled in the name of saving battery life - undo the VZ "big brother" aspects of the 730 by providing options and let us decide for ourselves what we want enabled or not.
For me, I would like to have application sounds come through to the Bluetooth headset. I know some of have said that this is not possible...but that is wrong. The reason I know its wrong is because on a couple of occasions as I am running VoiceSignal other application sounds have come through to the headset. So I know its possible. The reason why this is such a big deal is that if this works, someone can write an app to announce the caller ID number that is showing up so you dont have to look at your phone when you get a call and can decide to answer/not answer from the BT headset.
Also, if possible, give the directional keypad and blue button more functionality. For example to be able to scroll up and dismiss bubble alerts, etc.
And some of the others that have been mentioned:
WiFi and Phone at same time (seems like this is number 1 for everyone)
VoiceCommand improvement w/phone (not having to enable/disable, etc)
1. Allow a shortcut to be able to put the phone in Data Mode, rather than typing **PATH
2. Way to remove VoiceSignal, assuming a proper fix is not produced
3. Anything that can be reasonably disabled on the phone to increase battery life.
My list, most of which has already been said:
1. initiating a phone call, auto disable data mode (as has been said).
2. map response to bubble notification to hardware button
3. wifi and phone co-exist
4. surf from laptop via bluetooth connection to i730.
5. ability to map the menu key
6. allow the onscreen keypad to be accessible when using the phone and the physical keyboard is extended

I don't know if I'm hijacking the thread by suggesting a solution that already exists, so someone can delete this if they want. But, if while doing SMS or email messages if you tap the Context Button (upper left of Dpad), you will get a selection that allows you select SEND without having to pull out your stylus. Hope this is helpful.

Romoving EVDO from the bubble is a partiall fix.... I need to see Voice Mail, Missed Calls, and Text Messages LARGE on the Home Screen! Remember, this is a phone first.
