Alert when new email received?

Hi all,

I'm using the Verizon sync software on my desktop to forward messages coming to me through outlook to my 730. Works fine, but I would like to get a audible alert when I get a new email. I setup sounds and notifications in the cpanel to play a sound when messaging:new e-mail message occurs, but I'm not getting an alert.

Also, can soemone tell me what the darn chirping sound is right after I hit 'send' to begin a call? It's like voicemail notification or something, but I don't have voicemail waiting!

Thanks. My jury is still out on this device.

go to

Settings>Sound&Notifications>Notifications tab>event:Connection Established uncheck - play slound

Do the same with Connection Disconected.

Ogf,

Are you talking about the "stepping" tones right after you hit the "TALK" button on the phone? If so, my last two phones did this (as does my i730). It is for a "conformation" that the phone is dialing. In fact, if I would talk before the "tones" would ring it would "ask" if I still wanted to call the number. So I have to stay quiet before that tone.

Think that's it....

Mike
