My callers are telling me that my phone has a periodic beep during calls. On my side what I hear are clicks that happen about every 5-10 seconds. On their side, they say it sounds like what they would hear if the conversation was being recorded.
Go to the phone settings. Click on the alert tab. there are notifications for connection, disconnect and minute timer. Turn them off...you will be alright then.
Yup. I turned them off and they went away. the other thing i am getting though...If data connection is open when i get a call the conversation seems a little choppy. If data connection is disconnected...call sounds great.
I had a call today with a customer that the customer initiated. I noticed that there were beeps from time to time as those described above. I had the minute beep off but later today found out about turning off the connect and disconnect beep options. Perhaps that will take care of it. I'd call my wife and talk to her for a few minutes to see if it beeps, but she would never stay on the phone with me for that long.
I also had extremely poor reception. The customer said I was cutting in and out all the time. I wonder if that was related to the data connection. I may have had it turned on without knowing. When I called the customer back they said the reception was fine.
Geralde, thanks for the tip. I tried what you said and it seems to have killed the beeping. I'll try a few calls tomorrow to check the data\call interference.
The beep is back...and it brought a echo with it. I've made sure the alerts are off. Now it seems to be related to my new Akono 662 headset.
The wierd thing is the beeps are associated with the bluetooth headset but the echo is there with or without bluetooth. I never knew how loud the beeps were until I called my i730 from my home phone. I can see why it freaks my opposing counsels out. It sounds exactly like I'm recording the conversation.
Looks like I'm going to need to try something else.

P.S. My phone connection does get choppy if the data was on. I've now made a point to manually disconnect data connections as soon as I don't need them.

Two quick questions:
1. Do you hear the beeps or does the distant end ?
2. Does the beeps start at the beginning of the call or after you change something during a call ?
One comment:
On a call today that I had initiated with my BT850, I closed the 850 and used the native MIC/Speaker to continue my call. Soon after doing so, the distant end started to hear beeps. I didn't hear anything myself. I closed the call and started over again w/o BT and it worked fine.

1. Distant end... I was talking to opposing counsel when he asked me if I was recording the conversation. On my end, I get a faint short pause. The other end hears a beep. The beep made him nervous as he did not want our conversation recorded.
2. The beep starts from the beginning of the call.
3. I haven't been able to find a correlation between BT on/off and the beeps. The beeps show up at random times.

Its a hard problem to diagnose as most people will not tell you they hear a beep unless you specifically ask them.

All three items are unchecked on my phone but callers still heard beeps.
I hard reset my phone, re-paired my bluetooth and so far the beeps have not come back. The only difference in installed programs is I uninstalled Wireless Sync and did not install Voice Command. I don't believe WS or VC are the cause but so far it has worked for me. I'm going to test my set up for a couple of days and then eventually reinstall VC.
If anyone else hears pauses that comes at intervals of about 25 seconds please ask the distant end if they hears beeps. Hopefully we can isolate the cause.
That's happened to me when talking to my wife several times. All those times, it seems that I somehow triggered VoiceSignal to come on. When it does come on, she can hear a beep on her side - I can't really her it on mine.

Could this be a possibility for you?

It could be. I am sure as more people incounter this we will get a reason and a solution.
Just to add to this thread, I too have had complaints from other callers that they are hearing "beeps" randomly on their end (which corespond to the clicks I'm hearing on my end) of voice calls. I have already turned off all sounds and notifications, which is not the cause of the problem because it persists. Also, to clarify, I do not have any wi-fi or bluetooth enabled.
