So far, that's not much of a shift given it is March 17th already. I could do another month standing on my head at this point.

My local Verizon Tech rep told me the same thing....about April 15th. He had an i730 last week for two days for testing and he loved it! He was pretty excited about it. He also confirmed that it had WiFi, BT, and the camera!

Any word on pricing? Either raw, with a 1 year or 2 year contract.

Thumbs down April 15th ?

Everyone I talk to at Verizon thinks I'm nuts when I ask about the i730, including today. They keep saying, "Surely it would be in my system or at least a placeholder or some information if it were coming out soon. Must not be for a few weeks, at least." This makes me confused.

Any more baseless rumors from reputable sources?

Ever work on a big project? The dates always slip. There is no such thing as a firm date to release a new phone.

I'm so confused. I was under the impression that:

a) Developing, manufacturing and distributing a new phone was a small project.

b) release dates are always firm, all the time.

I guess you learn something new every day.

that's right. It takes only 1 man hour and about 1 dollar of investment as well.

A lot of the time the date slips due to nothing with the phone, like burning old inventory or waiting for the xmas season ... or some new deal or maybe inresponse to competitor packages.

They do that in other industries like movies and tv constantly.

Wink Suggestion

Just a suggestion.

Let's stop using this thread unless we hear of concrete delays in the 650 and i730.

My heart stops every time I see this thread title jump to the top of the stack

I know, I know, now I'm guilty of it too.

This phone will NOT Work as dailup modem bluetooth nor Usb cable. Phone does not have bluetooth profile for being used as modem. The only way you can use the network connection directly on the phone.

Not even with a cable?

PDAGuru, are you positive about this?
I am talking about with Verizon as the cell provider.

Thanks
Mark

As far as I know bluetooth will not work 100%. cable as modem still not 100% sure, however there is no software with the phone that will make it work, may have to research with 3rd party vendors.

So long as the DUN hasn't been purposefully crippled by the carrier, it doesn't matter that DUN software isn't provided. Others will provide the DUN software.

Hrm, I thought they would cripple it since they aren't including the bluetooth DUN.....although thinking about it, couldn't one get another MS Bluetooth stack off another device and put it on the i730 to get the profile?
