How do I use my i730 as Net access for a Laptop?

Hello all,
I have a laptop and want to connect my i730 (which already has "unlimited" internet access) to it so that I can use it as the broadband access... instead of getting a seperate broadband device and have to pay even more a month.

I was told this was possible a while back, but I have no idea how to do it.

Thoughts?

Thanks all!

There are 2 viable options for tethering an i730:

1. Pay Verizon an extra fee each month for tethering. I believe it's either $15 or $30 a month for the i730.

2. Get a copy of PDANet at June Fabrics PDA Technology Group. It's a one-time $34 charge. The use of PDANet is a violation of your contract with Verizon, but very few people have reported problems as long as the phone isn't used to stream music or movies. Even then, it takes a lot of streaming content to trip the threshold where Verizon starts paying attention.

There are other options for newer phones, but the i730 is limited by the operating system, which can't be upgraded beyond Windows Mobile 5.

or there is a program called BTmodem... that gives your phone DUN support... check this site search for that program... you will need a bluetooth device for your laptop.

PDANET is the way to go. They have a working trial - fully functional.
