Hey, Just got my I-730 last week, and have been reading through ALOT of posts and threads on here in the last two days..
I HAD the I-700, but due to a cracked screen, and me losing allmy info for the LAST time do to battery failure, I got this one.
First question...
I want to upgrade the WM. I have currently installed the 2003.. I have read the threads on the downloads, and have the downlad on my laptop right now, BUT, it is VISTA.... It will not work with the WMDC. I have the newest version of it, as far as I know. It is version 6.1.6965... I also do not understand the whole versionid.txt file thing y'all are trying to do.. I mean, if you get it installed, and the version doesnt change from the YE05 to the ZB is it not still WM5???

I downloaded also the Commander..
It is not yet on my pda yet though it is sitting in my desktop waiting for me to connect....
Any help or advice?
Anything else I might need to get on the phone?
Is this how you all are using the wifi and phone at same time?

Oh, yeah and does anyone know WHY i cannot get a picture CENTERED for a background on the today screen???

I have used the search function and did not come up with anything...
It did it automatically on the i 700..

It's been a long time since I thought about these things, but it sounds like you are trying to use the pre-release version of the WM5 software that MRailing and SuperDave obtained. Did you try the version available on Verizon's website?
