Currently have an i730 with unlimited BB and my VZ contract is up in a few days.

Wanted to know if there is a phone that I can connect to my laptop, and use the phone as the internet connection for it?

Because I do not want to buy their "laptop broadband plan" with their free USB modem.

I'd rather get a phone with an unlimited data connection, and just go through it.

Or, is it possible to do this with my current i730?

Your 730 will do just fine for this, but Verizon does not want you to just use your unlimited data plan. They want you to pay $15 for tethering per month. There are ways around this with programs like pdanet and wmwifirouter. Do a search in this forum and I am sure they are well described there.

I will also add that newer phones have a $29.99 version of the unlimited data plan that lack only wireless sync and a few other things, but there are many other ways to do OTA sync now for free. My suggestion would be upgrade and save $15 a month which will most likely over a year pay for your new phone.
