Samsung Omnia i900 vs i-730

have had the i-730 for years now and was considering something thinner but that would still do most of/all of what the i730 does, and more.
How does the Samsung Omnia i900 compare to the i730? Would it be a good replacement in your opinion?
Thanks,
Mark

If you do not rely on a physical keyboard then it is a great choice.

I will miss my i730

I must say, I haven't been a great contributor to this forum, but I've trolled it to death over the past (almost) 4 years. The i730 was like a friend to me, but I have changed over to the Verizon I910... and I couldn't be happier. It has been a very reliable phone, the screen is gorgeous, after my 8gb micro sd I've got 16gb of storage space... it is just everything I could ask for in a phone (minus unlocked gps, but there is still hope that Verizon will hold to their word and unlock it for us). I just wanted to let everyone here know that I will miss their help... and you should all get an omnia

From what I understand there should be a firmware update sometime in the first quarter of this year... but I'm not holding my breath. I'm thinking if it comes out by the 3Q it will be a gift.

hi,

with WM 6, you should be able to watch videos in flash formats, i believe, right? did verizon disable this aspect in the onmia? can you go to youtube and simply click on a video to watch it?

or how about a website with a flash video that comes up?

i went to play with an i910 the other day. it fails my tests because it has mono sound/one speaker, which is nowhere nearly as loud/nice as our i730s.

personally, i cannot stand typing on the screen either. but that just seems to be the way many are going.

but back on that flash video question, i believe WM5 should be able to handle RTSPs, yes? so i730 with WM 5 and Opera 9 should be able to play youtube videos ?

and WM5 and Opera together should be able to play flash videos as well?

i have read conflicting reports about flash playing in Opera. i guess opera 9 was designed to play flash and youtube videos, but one of the known problems listed is that it's actually not working now...

is anyone using Opera 9?

i never upgraded from WM 2003 SE to 5, so i just use Opera 8.65.

thanks,
jay
