Need Help! New i730 owner!

Hi,
I just recently purchased an i730, i used to have an i760. It currently has Windows Mobile 2003. I am trying to find out how to upgrade and instal windows mobile 5 or even 6... please help.

The update was on Samsung's site last I checked - its been a while. You need a PC with XP and Activesync ( I think 4.2 or newer). The upgrade file comes with step by step instructions. I will try and link it if I can find it.

You can get the upgrade to WM5 at the bottom of the page here...Phones & Devices - Verizon Wireless Support. Be sure to install the Daylight Savings Time update and Voice Signal update after you upgrade to WM5.

If you run into problems be sure to read the stickies in red at the top of the forum.

You can only upgrade to WM5. WM6 is not supported on the i730.

Just to add - update the Daylight Savings before your first sync - helps avoid some annoying issues.

Well, I'll be! I just had to chime in... a i760 owner "up"-grading to a i730... could it be a trend.. I know I think of it daily!

thank you all so much! that helped. i have mac but i got in touch with my buddy who had xp... and no i havent upgraded.. haha. my 760's touchscreen broke and the warranty was up so i didnt wanna pay $150 for a new screen so i decided to try this 730.. so far i love it. haha
