Question another i730 or go to i760?

Here’s is my dilemma – I have a i730 for awhile. It certainly meets my needs, but the SD card slot stopped working, causing me some aggravation. I still like the phone and I really don’t need something new and cutting edge.

I can buy a used i730 for $50-$100 locally, or I can buy an i760 for $100-150.

Any opinions on whether I should make the jump to i760?

Thanks in advance and Happy Holidays!

I personally love the i730 for many reasons from it being a true one handed device with its vertical qwerty, to it having a more powerful processor, it can be overclocked and scaled to go up to 624mhz, has a better nicer+bigger screen thats visible in daylight, has lots of tweaks, software and accessories, etc...I have had an i760 and thought it was ok but I sold it and have kept my trusty i730.

If the choice is strictly between the 760 and the 730, hands down the 730 is the better choice. If you are open to other models as well, then this is a tougher one to call. There are a lot of great models out there, but the 730 is still keeping up with the Jones's in horsepower and better than most in build quality. Missing some of the somewhat standard HW that a lot of the newer handsets have (GPS, camera, etc.), but what it does it does better than a lot of much newer units.

It is getting a little long in the tooth now though, and there are many sleeker models out there. I must say that prelaunch I was very excited about the 760, but it was a let down to me. In the end the vert slider, in my mind, is the best form factor out there. But I must add that I have moved on. My primary device is a 6800 now and I step back (but definitely not down) to the 730 for things like camping, etc. I do love winmo 6.1, the camera, and the GPS (Hacked open) but software-wise I think my 730 performs BETTER. I never had low running memory issues on the 730, and this is an all too common occurrence on the 6800. It is the specific hardware changes that moved me forward, and by no means any fault of the 730. Also, newer toys are fun.
