The Pre is going to be sweet and have the killer i730 form factor. The OS looks awesome - there are some vids out there now of the webOS SDK in action. Apple should be looking out!
I couldn't agree more. I'm hoping it will be as good as everyone says it is. Apparently Angelina Jolie has one and likes it better than her iPhone so it must be true Seriously though, I wonder how extensive their app collection will be and how the OS holds up. Looks like I will have to get a data plan...:/ I missed it but liked not having one, er, rather not having to pay for one that is...but 4G will be sweet! Do you still use the i730 as the primary phone like I do or something else? I was thinking of picking up an older (pre Nov 1 XV6800 just so I can take advantage of the internal GPS and other things..either way since I have bought so many softwares for the Windows Mobile platform it looks like I'm going to keep at least ONE or two Windows devices so I can keep using the softwares.

Still have two unused brand new 730's and two that I use. I got tired of lugging the ole' brick around. I switched to a smaller samsung sway for now. I'll probably switch back and forth when I start to miss the nice features but I won't miss the large brick in my pocket.

i have finally moved on from WinMo and an running a BB Storm and really loving it. I went through an Omnia and Saga before getting the Storm. But... I do have a Moto Q9/A4500 "Napolean" (a VZW test phone that was never officially released but may be now) that I mess around with (think Q9m/c on steroids!). I was actually able to transfer some of my software licenses over to my BB with some software so that was cool. The major problem with WinMo Pro is that it is a lousy "touch" OS. WinMo Standard would be much better as a touch OS. Hopefuly 6.5 is better and 7.0 the real deal.

Wow you like the Storm? I dont care for touchscreen for usual activites and cant imagine youd be able to type fast via text. While I hate the screen size on the Qs the specs for the Napolean are pretty cool otherwise. How'd you manage to get a test phone? Do they have dates for 6.5 or 7? I take it you weren't that impressed with the Omnia.

sorry for the delay in answering...
i love the storm. i can type very fast on it - the click screen works better than most people let on. plus the beta OS's i have been running blow the official VZW OS away. people that use my storm after a stock one cant even beleive it is the same phone.

how did i get the napolean??? snoop around enough and have $$$ ready!!! LOL!

the Omnia was junk to me = terrible touchscreen phone with even worse signal strength. 25 missed calls in 5 days and went thru 3 different Omnia's in those 5 days. thankfully i use youmail so i get a text when i have a missed call! the saga was nice but so similar to the Q9's that it was no real upgrade for me...

I played around with both a Touch Pro and Storm at Verizon, wasn't impressed.. I thought I would like the Touch Pro at least but it was bleh..I'm thinking the Sprint version would look, feel and work nicer. Besides it having a horizontal qwerty it was sluggish and crappy I thought. Storm, the click screen was kinda weird but interesting. Don't see the appeal though. I heard some guys around me saying wow all of the phones in this place suck..you'd think if they wanted to sell some phones they'd make sure all of them worked for one thing.. I was thinking the same thing. The ones I fooled around with worked, but I checked the other displays they had for the same phones and 2 out of 3 didn't work. Verizon sucks.. I really hope the Palm Pre is everything I hope it is, because unless the Touch Pro 2 is absolutely amazing, I'm looking for a reason to leave Verizon..

Sprint version of TP is much nicer, but good luck getting one on VZW. Think I will be kissing them good bye after 20 years.

Yea you get a choice of the Palm Pre and Touch pro 2. I'm considering leaving Verizon as well..though..I do love my i730..:/ I just wonder how long technology will let me keep it on their network with how fast it updates and changes.
