gobraves00: What are the contents of \program files\wifigetpod\setup.xml on your device? Is it empty or nonexistant? This is the file that keeps all of your settings/feeds. Those details may give me more insight into why you can't keep your settings. Right now I have this file being forced to that folder on the device. Is your device out of free storage space? Check under Start>Settings>System Tab>Memory. If this is the case, I'll look into making a setting to manually set the location of this setup file so that users can pick a place that they know has free space.
As for the NullReferenceException, does it only happen when you click the download menu item or also when the scheduled download happens(overnight?) Let me know, I'll look into possibilities that I may have missed.
I've posted an update (again in my first post, v0.2.3145.28832) allowing you to change the location of the config file. Let me know if putting the file in a different location such as safestore or a storage card helps with the issue of losing setup information.
gobraves00: I think I may have also found the NullReferenceException your were getting, are you using this app on an i730 or other device? Either way, try it out now and let me know.
In case anyone is still watching this thread, I have posted a new version of WifiGetPod for you to download. It fixes a few minor issues and should be pretty stable.
Just ran accross this thread and would love to get this working but keep getting errors. At first, I added feeds and it downloaded to about 67% and then threw a bunch of errors. I restarted it then it kept throwing an error that it couldn't find the setup file. I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times and can't get past the second error now. Any ideas?
First, what does the free space look like on your device? Do you have a storage card that you are saving the podcasts to? What I recommend is opening up the settings(from the main panel, Menu -> Settings) and pointing the settings dir to somewhere on the device memory with a bit of free space(200k should be more than enough). I use \program files\WifiGetPod. Then point your podcast dir to your storage card where you can store larger podcast files. I like to keep these two locations on seperate storage, becase it is really easy to run out of space on a device when downloading large podcasts, and that can stop the program from writing a setup file with the latest data.
Let me know if you need more help or if you get a specific error message, I can track the issue down further.
I set it up initially to download to the storage card and I confirmed that was where the podcasts were going. I've got about 1gig worth of free space on the storage card. I also tried pointing the settings file to both the main memory and the storage card but could never get it to find it after the initial crash. No matter where I pointed it in the Settings, it kept throwing the same error "Cant find setup file". I'll try reinstalling later tonight to see what happens.
