Sorry for the caps. Here's my dilemna...

I can't install the windows mobile 5 on my i730 because i lost the usb cable that links my docking charger to my computer. I have bluetooth on my computer but I can't seem to send anything to my phone without upgrading my activesync to 4.1 which I can't seem to find the link for. All I can find is 4.5 but this unfortunately disables sending things via bluetooth and will only send via infrared or wired

How can I upgrade my phone? Verizon (retail store) won't help me becuz this has been discontinued.

BTW my original reason for doing this is to update the time change into my phone...I'm sick and tired of my phone not updating according to that new time change law thingy.... I can't install the file from Verizon (DST file to fix the time change) until I have the WMobile v5.

You could put a post on craigslist offering $5-10 to someone who will loan you the cable.

Or you could buy a USB cable for ~$15. There's a thread here recommending retailers.

I figure - if you are going to continue using the i730 you may as well get a cable. I wouldn't trust Bluetooth to handle the upgrade tbh (even it it was possible) - could brick it. Darn you Samsung and your proprietary usb plugs!

You could bust into your cradle and expose the USB wires for the connection and "hotwire" a USB cable (being sure it was connected correctly), but that seems a bit over the top.
