OK, I finally gave in and bought one of these bad boys. I kept looking at these and netbooks and I finally settled on the Redfly. I realized that my phone does all I need and more for mobile purposes. I am used to the software on it, and the Redfly does a great job at extending the abilities of the phone as is already is. I must say after using it that the $200 price tag is VERY worth it. Cheaper and easier than netbook with AY better battery life. OK have a fire run leaving now. Will edit later.
Celio never raised the price, instead they discontinued the original model. They introduced 2 new ones, the c7 and the C8n. If you hunt you can still find the c8 at the 200 price tag.
C7 - 7 inch screen, smaller battery (5 hours) 2 usb ports, vga out priced @ $229.99
C8 - (the original) 8 inch screen, full battery ( 8 hours while charging phone,no BS), 2 usb ports, vga out, dicontinued but only $199 where still in stock- HURRY
C8N - 8 inch screen, full battery, 3 usb ports, vga out, media port(composite video in for a media player including ipod, touch pro, zen vision, etc.), $299
All of them also have bluetooth built-in for connection with the phone never leaving your holster - nice. I am typing this post right now while charging my phone, sitting on the couch and watching Rudolph with the kids. I really love this thing (although it has its shortcomings). As far as best for the money, the C8 @ 200 bucks is by far the best deal. If you can hunt one of these down still in the wild - snatch it up. Other wise, I would steer you to the c8n, as battery life is one of the biggest advantages.
I was sitting next to my Dad about a week ago at his house, him with his asu eeepc and me with my redfly. By the time he booted up, connected to wifi and opened his browser, I had hit the one button I needed to connect, and had been on the net for almost 5 minutes. The Redfly and Opera Mini are a mean fast browsing combination. Can't beat'em.
