Hi, I have a few voicemails I'm getting sick of saving over and over. I want to record them to my computer. I'm looking for a method a little more hi-fi than holding the phone up to a microphone plugged into my soundcard. Any suggestions? I have the i730.
Thanks for the replies. Do those services only work for new voicemails (since it replaces your current voicemail system)? I have about a dozen messages I already have that I'd like to record. Could those services still be of benefit to me?

I just use the built in recorder to record my verizon voicemails and transfer them via Activesync. You could also use a program like Vito Recorder and do high quality though I guess you could choose higher quality within the built in one.
Dom, that's what I was hoping for. I've never used the recorder. Could you explain how to record while on a call with voicemail? Basically, all I want to do is record a call. People do that right?

Yea I do it all the time since Verizon doesnt give you great options for storage space and its annoying to keep saving the messages.
If all you want to do is record a voice mail its kinda annoying but you just need to open the record software (I map it to the top left record button with a hold down motion instead of the tap because it accidentally gets brought up that way and if youre in a call it starts beeping...the tap I map "Phone" to the same button so I can get to my dial pad quick) make sure it saves to your SD Card or wherever you want it to save the recordings to on the right softkey option for settings. There you can also select the sound quality I think as well..tap the phone dial pad to come up w the record button/call the number.. when you click 1 to hear the first voice mail hold down the top left record button, or better yet, click the arrow key so the phone pad gets minimized quickly so you can see the record software, click "record".. record the length of the call, when its done click the stop button with your stylus.
If you have lots of stuff in the folder it may take a while for the stupid timer animation to go away..after it does then tap the record button to get the phone pad to come up again press save (9? just so you can make sure you recorded everything at the end and then can go back and delete all the messages once you verify it worked), bring up the recorder quickly by hitting the middle arrow key to minimize the phone dial pad, when the next one comes up do the same thing..Etc. Its pretty self evident you just have to be quick with the maneuvering going from the phone dial pad to the record software and back.
If you want to record a phone call you just use the recorder software..I THINK you can record both side IF you either do speakerphone or headphones but I haven't tried it. if you get a text or calendar alert during recording it will stop recording..This is why it may be better to get Vito or another recorder because I don;t think that will happen with those other softwares. I dont use those anymore but just use the default software so you can do it its just a spec annoying to do so.
Thanks so much for the clear instructions. I'm going to try that when I go to lunch.
No problem man. Glad I could help. Hope it works to your satisfaction. Make sure you save them FIRST while you back them up in case you don't like the sound quality..then you can try to re save them again with a higher quality.
