Had my first travel experience with the i700, and it gets high scores!
I absolutely love having a converged device! I still need to find the best way to carry it (this trip, it was largely in my pants pocket or shirt pocket). I had a Vaja case for my iPAQ, and I'm not sure if that will be my choice for carrying the i700. Answering the phone with the case in my face - I just don't know!
I think I'll continue to carry it "naked" for now...
Sometimes, my EN connection was shaky (it would just disconnect me at random, despite good signal strength on the indicator), but otherwise, I was delighted at the performance.
Another note: I have had 5 iPAQs (3800 all the way to 5555), and I can honestly say that despite the slower processor than in my most recent 5555, this device appears snappier even on the Normal CPU mode!
I just got back from a week in Denver from New Jersey. I have the 5450 with the Sierra AirCard 555 and the i700. I now use the 5450 / 555 only for Pocket CoPilot live. The i700 outperformed the 5450 in all other areas except for the fact that it does not offer enough memory and bluetooth to support the CoPilot GPS. OTherwise, I cannot believe how good it is.

I love it too. I went from post it note organization method to the coolest alternative. This was my very first PDA and I don't know how I ever got along without it.
Getting used to answering the phone was the hardest. I came from a simple flip cell phone, but I consider that just a minor adjustment.
Well, I must say that I spent my day today at Disney's Magic Kingdom in Orlando. Signal was strong, was able to connect to my corporate Terminal server, check/respond e-mail, browse the Internet, etc.
I've had this phone over two months now and I think it is the best gadget/tool, however you wanna call it, I've ever got.
I still have to agree, even after 4 months, this is the best PPC and best cell phone I've ever owned. Sure, collectively they have a few drawbacks over their seperate device counterparts, but the cons are far outweighted by the pro's of the convergance.
Four months later and still no regrets!

Kenny, I've not heard of such an issue with the SD card... that is a travesty if you must run your device without additional storage capacity! Have you tried another card?
And Maximum, I agree on the GPS need! I went from being a total "GPS Junkie" on my iPAQ's to "GPS-less user" with the i700. I'm experiencing serious withdrawls!
Anxiously awaiting a cabled solution...
I have not reset in well over a week - and I have a Lexar 256 card in there all the time. With my Motorola T720, I had to remove the battery at least once a day.

I would agree with all that this is the best PDA device I've had so far. Up until now I've used Jornada and iPaq 3800 series.
There a few drawbacks though that's worth pointing out.
1) the screen - i wish the screen looked more like iPaq 3800 outdoors. It is true that the screen looks stunning indoors but I would gladly trade that for better being able to use the device outdoors - after all with the wireless capability isn't this exactly where the device is otherwise designed to excel in?
2) the stylus - the stylus itself is not bad - but it was a poor idea to have it come out of the bottom. You can't take it out while it's in the cradle, and it can easily fall out after a long term use since the stylus holder seems to be losing its grip on it over time - simlar to the original iPaq 3600 issue - but at least over there the stylus was at the top so it wouldn't fall out.
3) soft reset button - this is related to the stylus issue since the only way to reset this device is to take out your stylus (which is difficult if it is cradled), unscrew one of its ends, and poke it in the tiny hole. This is really cumbersome and a great way to lose your unscrewed cap. As this device appears to need soft reset more often than others i've had this is a real drawback. Why couldn't they have made it easier to reset with a simple poke in the stylus?
4) SD card at the side. Using the SDIO capability (wifi, bluetooth) would require the card sticking out at the side - which would not be pretty or convenient.
All of these are technically solvable since XDA doesn't have any of these issues. But these are not major issues but minor annoyances, and net-net i700 is still the best PDA device out there and the best I've had.
Instead of resetting with the stylus, you can just slide the battery off, wait a sec and then slide it back on. It's much easier then hitting the reset button, also if your not completly locked up there are software apps that can soft-reset you.
I agree with the battery reset idea. That is how I have come to do it. Just make sure the internal battery is fully charged or the soft reset will be a hard reset.

I'm an xda user, and i must admit i'm quite jealous i can't have a I7, simply cause t-mobile doesn't carry them and i don't wanna switch carries. sigh, you guys got it made (ya bastads)

Switch carriers = you will no longer have to be jealous and the service is amazingly reliable.

Diginixy,
Consider this our revenge! We've watched as you XDA owners have enjoyed a converged device for over a year now! (the Thera doesn't count!).
Now it's our turn to be envied!
Matt
I would suggest Dinar Soft Handy Menu it has a reset option in there. It also has short cuts for your settings to make your access quicker. I should have a beta soon that will include phone settings for me test then they will release the update.

That sounds like a good idea. How do you tell though that the internal battery is fully charged? I didn't even know that i700 had an internal battery apart from its main battery.
That is a good question about how do you tell if the battery is fully charged. I cannot tell, but I do know that if the green light is on, both batteries are charged. There is a small battery that is internal that keeps the memory refreshed when the main battery is removed. However, it does not have to be totally charged to remove the battery and replace it. It does need to have a significant charge however, or you risk losing everything. I know - I already did that.
