Brand new I700 - need guidance/answers

Received a new I-700 for Mom's day haven't activated it yet as I am not sure I want to keep it...may just sell it on ebay (brand new) and buy something else like maybe the i730.

Wonder if I could get clarification on a few things before I do list it the I700:

1. Will use phone for text messaging and surfing the web. Do I need to add a
data plan from Verizon? or will the internet connection through Verizon
(mobile web) be sufficient?
2. Want to add bluetooth capability but can't find out how to do this. Is this
not possible?

Yes, you need a data plan (or pay by kilobyte). i700 can't use Mobile Web.

No Bluetooth support. i700 is pretty old. I would be surprised if you could get much for it on eBay these days.

Ok, thanks for the info. If no bluetooth supported why is it showing up in my CONNECTIONS area?

Also...lets say I trash this one...which would recommend? Need the PDA portion & phone portion the most.

Your i700 can be used without a data package by changing the connection to the quick2net and not the 1x data. The Q2N just takes up your air time. Do a search in this forum and you can pull up the info on how to do this. And yup, no blue. The i730 is a huge upgrade, but the i760 will be out someday. Check the i760 release thread for the latest on that.

I thought that VzW has cracked down on people trying to use Q2N... Is it truly possible? In other words, are you currently doing this?

I only ask since last time I tried, I got stuck with huge data charges...
