Hello everyone,
I have been scouring the web for hours, and I cannot find out the following things:
1.) Is the i700 SD spec 2.0? Or is it SD 1.1? Some 4GB cards are reported to not work on devices that are not up to the SD 2.0 spec.
2.) If it is SD 2.0, does the i700 support SDHC as well? A document over at SanDisk's site claims that the new SDHC (SD High Capacity) cards are based on the SD 2.0 spec that enables SD cards to go from 4GB-32GB. I am just interested in seeing if I can buy a 4GB card for my i700, and not have to settle with a 2GB.
3.) Finally, based on the answers of the two questions above, is there a specific file system that I should be using to format my cards? FAT16/FAT32/TFAT? Apparently I have read that if the spec is only 1.1, then FAT16 is the way to go. SD 2.0 supports FAT32 formatting. Transaction-Safe FAT (TFAT) formatting sounds pretty specific and I don't think I have ever seen it mentioned that the i700 has the hardware-specific driver onboard for that type.
Basically I want to get the largest, fastest card I can for my i700 so I don't have to switch all the time, especially if I ever get a Wi-Fi and/or GPS SD cards. That's three cards to manage. Oy!
Thanks for any help anyone with more experience can offer.
