Weird Problem
Just the other day, the speaker in my I700 that is used for normal phone listening, stopped working. I could only hear phone conversations through the speakerphone, which makes it hard to have a private conversation. This problem does not seem all that weird in itself. I just figured that the speaker was bad and was able to get the insurance company to send me another one. I called the insurance company and was expecting to get a refurbished unit, but was sent a brand new one. Here's where it gets weird. After I activated the new one and tried it out, it had the exact same problem. The odds of that happening on a brand new phone must be astronomical. I called Verizon to see if it was possible if it was something to do with the network, though that does not seem possible either, and they were mystified also. I called back the insurance company and they had me go through all these procedures that I had already done anyway. They are now going to send me a I730, which while having some features that I like, also has a smaller screen, which I don't. However, I still find it hard to believe I could have the exact same problem on the two I700 phones: one brand new. Anybody have any Idea about this problem? Is it possibly a virus? Have any of these or similar devices been attacked by viruses yet? I only synched my new unit with contacts and calendar and other Outlook stuff. I even did a hard reset later, but still the same problem.
