Smile New i700 owner - misc. questions for the pros!

Hey all -

This is a great forum - I'm learning so much here about the i700. I just bought an i700 from my neighbor who wasn't using it anymore. It is in great shape and I am already having a blast playing around with all the programs etc I am finding online.

I am looking to buy an SD WiFi card asap, so if anyone here has one they aren't using anymore let me know and maybe we can work out a deal!

Other questions that I haven't been able to find clear answers to anywhere else:

1) Is it possible to upgrade the i700 to Windows Mobile 5?

2) There is a sticker on the back of my battery that says Location Based Services (LBS) On - Off. I think this is related to emergency location services. Is there any software that utilizes this service as GPS?

3) I tried transferring a small avi over to my SD storage card and watching it in WMP 9. The sound was smooth but the video was choppy. Is there any chance of clearing this up? Is the lag attributed to the SD transfer speed, the i700 processor, or WMP 9? Does overclocking smooth out video playback? I would love to watch a movie on my next flight, just wondering if anyone is doing so.

Thanks!
Smile

I think this forum has kind of died due to the newer version of the Samsung PPC phones coming out.....

Anyway, I will give a shot at one of your questions. The LBS on / off thing is controlled in the setup of the I-700 The sticker is there to show you what the symbol will look like on the screen when that mode is active.

1. No
2. No (unfortunately)
3. It's the processor and how the video is set up. Search the i700 forum for ways to rip and view movies on the PPC/i700. I used a program called Pocket DVD studio.
