backlight problems

Have a i700 that the backlight works intermittenly. Currently it is off and has been off for a few days. Happened a week ago, for a day or two, then it desided to work for a week, before turning off again. Anyone seen this problem.

taking these basics to be fine:
Battery charged fully
power set to your satisfaction (backlight settings)
Keys are not being accidentally tapped.
NO third party power management software installed.
I would say that you have a hardware issue, and might be resolved by getting an exchange unit.
Worst scenario I would suggest is back-up ALL your data and then do a hard reset, don't install ANY third party software and try it for a few days, then ADD one software at a time to see IF there are any glitches you notice with the backlight and that would be your suspect software.......and you know what I would say on that try it and let us know.

something I learned

I also found out that if you press down the power off button on the side of the phone(the one that shuts the screen off completely) and hold it, in about 3 -5 secs, the screen will dim. The battery issue will also cause this to happen. But I accitdently did this while i had about 70% battery power and was confused.

Try this...

Hope it works!

Tried everything, even reset, no good.
Must be hardware.

Thank you:
