Question Need help.Cannot get Intellisync to recognize my i700 so I can sync

I am trying to use Intellisync 5.3 and Activesync 4.2 to sync my i700. Is this possible to use both software apps or should I only be using one or the other. I needed Intellisync so I can sync my Outlook Contacts subfolders that I can't sync with just Activesync. I've installed ActiveSync 4.2 and it works fine but Intellisync will not recognize my device as being connected. When I click on configure it just runs the task where is states "Connect any Windows CE device" and never recognizes that it is connected. I've done everything I know to do from uninstalling and reinstalling the software, making sure the two things that need to be in my firewall exception list are there, etc. I don't understand it because Activesync connects to it and syncs it just fine. Any suggestions?

Nope, you can only use AS to work with the i700.

Really!? Well that just sucks!! LOL

I don't want to have to put my contacts all together and I hate the "category" solution. Is there not any other software out there that will allow me to do what I want to do?

Nowhere does it say on the packaging that it doesn't support my model. It just states that it supports Windows CE devices.

This was one of the threads that I found during my search before I posted my thread. In this thread, this guy apparently got Intellisync to work for him.

Okay...I have resolved the problem.

I uninstalled ActiveSync 4.2 and reinstalled version 3.7 that came with my phone on a cd and it now works. I can now use BOTH Activesync and Intellisync. I did this because I had it working before but I couldn't figure out why all of a sudden it wouldn't work and then I realized that I had updated ActiveSync to the newer 4.2 version and that must have been it so I uninstalled and reverted back and now it works fine.

I don't know if I really NEED version 4.2 or not but I'm not going to mess with anything right now. I truly do not understand why Microsoft will not make ActiveSync sync with Outlook Contacts subfolders.

Active Sync and Intellisync

I agree that Intellisync 5.03 does not seem to work with the newer version of Active Sync. Intellisync was unable to connect to the "CE device" even though Active Sync was connected ok. Re-installing Intellisync did not help. In the end I saw this post and installed Active Sync 3.7 and it all worked again.

(Note when re-installing Active Sync I had a persistent failure at the end of the setup trying to copy wceusbsh.cat into a temp folder. I got over this by removing everything from the temp folder and then removing the USB connection to the Ipaq).
