Antenae, adapter and car kit for the i700

I just got off the phone with equus, and he has discoverd some items available at Radio Shack that may be just what some of you have been looking for:

If you have been looking for an external antenae, they have one available that will work perfectly with the i700. Available as well is a cable to connect it to the i700. Here are the parts and numbers:

Universal Antenae - 17-345
Cable and adapter - 17-349

A universal car phone mount that, according to equus, is a perfect fit for the i700 is part number 17-552. He says that a minor little dremel work will allow you to use it with the antenae above.

As soon as equus gets back from his part-hunting trip, he will put these items to the test, and post the results.

Thanks to tsatryan for helping me in posting this earlier as I was on a hunt for adapters..car holders..cables..new phones!!!..in other words I went shopping....my "parole officer" gave me my birthday gift yesterday and it was"money!!!!"
I did notice a tremendous difference in signal strength when the antenna adapter is added....not only did the signal strength increase, speed on internet surfing was awesome. I am attaching pictures of cable and the antenna. There are shots of i700 with the antenna booster and without booster. Observe the signal bars...

Cool! This is entirely different than I had expected. Couple questions - how long is the cable, and how much does it cost?

Can you post a pic of your i700 and the antenna with the cable attached together? Just to have a comparison of size of the two.

So, the antenna is actually just about the same size as the i700? At least it looks that was in the photo.

Do you have a picture of the mount? I'd like to see if it would work for my i-mate also.

measurement on it is 2,3/4" wide and 5,1/2" long. It will be a little tight fit but I have been able to shave off the thick foam packing on either side a little bit so the buttons don't get hit always...
