Hi all

Does anyone have any idea as to how to enable AMPS - analog cellular - on the SPH-I700. It states on Phonescoop that VZW disable this capability on the phone - I live in a rural area, and the digital signal is really weak out here. I get one bar, but no connection.

Alternatively, does anyone know the power output of the SPH-I700? I see it has a backplug for an external antenna, and I am evaluating the possibility of a booster/antenna configuration.

I would suggest updating your PRL (roaming list) and see if that helps. There was a previous discussion about external atenna's on the board so I would suggest a quick search. Other than that no one has announced a way to turn on the analog feature.

how do you update you PRL? I live in Canada (Telus) with my last phone, I just dialed *22803, and it update automatically. But with my i700 it says its unable to do it.

Hmmm, I use VzW and I just normally do *228 then option 2 and it updates it. It should be the same as a normal phone on th Telus network.
