Group of 20 PDA users

I'm responsible for a group of 20 users who are currently on the HTC PPC (T-Moble, AT&T & O2 networks). I've just started considering the Samsung i700 as an alternative. The driver in this process is the fact that the GSM networks in the US have huge gaps and our users have started carrying extra phones on a second network.

Concerns I have involve Exchange integration via our Microsoft mobile information server - which is not complicated - but requires data service (GPRS) with VPN to our server.

Anyone else out there have any experience with this?

Thanks,

I would suggest that you contact the Sprint PCS business office and ask them what they can do for you. It doesnt hurt to try, plus you would probably end up with a larger service area and faster speeds.

I'm going to move this to the i700 forum since your question is specifically related to using the i700. I would find it hard to believe that this service would work with GPRS and not CDMA.

GPRS is General Packet Radio Service, associated with GSM networks. AT&T Wireless, T-Mobile, Cingular all use GSM and GPRS, while Verizon and Sprint have CDMA networks.

Verizon Wireless has data services on CDMA, called Express Network (144kbps) and Quick2Net (19.2kbps), and they are capable of establishing VPN connections, among other things, once the wireless device is connected to the Internet, much like GPRS.
