When I try to copy or move or do anything to the windows/start menu directory, it tells me acces denied. I want to re-arrange my start menu to make it more usable. I am trying to do this while connected to active sync. I have also tried to change this using file explorer on the phone, but that didn't work either.

Can someone please point me in the right direction?

Those files/folders are write-protected. You will need to use a more advanced explorer like Resco File Explorer to change the properties of the files that you want to edit in order to make any changes.

Ok, first you are going to need to application unlock your phone, so that you can make changes to stuff that is write protected, and so you can make changes in the regirstry.
To do this, click on this link, and download the file:
http://www.spv-developers.com/content/SDA_ApplicationUnlock.zip
then run the program while you are connected to active sync.
reeboot your phone, and use the file explorer on active sync to change sopy and paste the icons you want to the start menu folder.

Hope that helps. There is also a more complicated way to do this using a registry editor. let me know if you want to do it this way.
