PocketTV - MPEG Movie Player for Smartphone, Pocket PC Phone, and other Mobile Devices

I think pocket TV will play it for you.

Core player is what I use for DIVX files, but I'm not sure if it will play 3GP.

If you are making new files, and not just looking for support for older files, you should consider Divx format. The quality is much better. A program called AutoGK will convert about anything to Divx. Works great for me on my BlackJack. I have "Cars" on my phone. It's about 314Mb and the quality is pretty good.

uh, windows media player will play it, the codec is built into the flash due to the fact that the phone records in the 3gp format.

I could not find a free version or trial version of core player. The only way I could try it was to buy it. There is another program called TCPMP that is the meat of core player. At least as near as I can tell. It is free. You can use it as long as you like. I had a problem that it messed up my home screen when I exited the program. I don't know what the problem is, or if they plan to fix it, or if it would even be a problem for you. It really annoyed me, so I broke down and payed $20 for the official software.

You can register here and you will be able to download the latest version of TCPMP.

I can play a 3GP video file that the phone recorded using Core Player. Like the other guy said, media player will play the file since the codec is by default loaded onto the phone. The only reason to get CorePlayer or TCPMP would be to play other file types. For my, the Dixv codec was a must. What's the point of all this phone, if I can't put a movie on it to watch when I'm bored.
