Samsung Blackjack Firmware Update

Looks like Samsung has posted an update for the Blackjack that fixes some roaming issues (especially internationally) and changes branding to AT&T, among other minor changes.

I haven't installed it (yet,) but some have and the only noticeable change is in the icons for some apps.

Just DLed and installed it, without a problem I might add, but without any major changes also. Just like you said, AT&T now and thats about it. Oh well

I anxiously followed those instructions hoping for so much more. The AT&T logo is nice.... but now it doesn't match the Cingular branding on the phone itself
Anyway - the only problem I had was when the phone finally restarted after the update I got "Cannot execute calnot.exe". I pressed OK and carried on... It didn't come up when I rebooted the phone... but does anyone know what this is?

Changes I've noticed:
  • Startup/Shutdown logos are now AT&T
  • Default wallpaper is "AT&T Default"
  • "Cingular Music" is now "AT&T Music"
  • "Cingular Video" is now "Cellular Video"
  • "Cingular Mail" is now "AT&T Mail"
  • Default Cingular ringtone is now "at&t tone"
  • New wallpaper "Waikiki" - Sailboat with subdued AT&T logo
  • New wallpaper "Message in a bottle" - Bottle in sand with subdued AT&T logo
  • New wallpaper "Bay bridge" - Bridge with subdued AT&T logo
  • New wallpaper "SandGlass" - Hourglass with subdued AT&T logo
  • New wallpaper "Tuscany" - Flowers in field with subdued AT&T logo
  • When dialing a number - there is an AT&T logo on top

Funny that carrier name on the home screen is still Cingular...lol

Calnot I believe is short for a calendar notification service. If it hasn't come up on subsequent reboots then I wouldn't worry about it

Phew - if it's just a calendar notification then I don't care... I was afraid it was Call Notification... I definitely want to get notified of calls!

I just installed the updated... went smoothly.

Got all my contacts/dates back via ActiveSync, but was a little annoyed that I had to install the Daylight Savings update again, along with setup Pop/Mail accounts, and re-do some hacks.

In less than an hour, everything's about back to normal... I'll fill in any gaps as they come up, but all the important stuff is working fine.

Has anyone noticed a battery life improvement after installing the update?

i just did the firmware update and now my bluetooth won't pair with anything. so far this firm update is useless. i was wondering if anyone had the original firmware to re-flash the phone with. or if anyone knows how to fix the problem. thanks for any help.

edit- well i don't know what happened but i had left bluetooth on and a friend of mine turned on my headset and the head set tried to connect with my phone by itself. pretty sweet! i also tried to pair the phone with my gps receiver it worked also. so the bluetooth fixed itself. and i have been getting a better battery life not that i had problems before it just lasts super long now. average day only took me down 75% left. before i was on 50% to 40% on the average day.

Since this update I have copied over cab files for installing programs such as documents to go and I cannot view these files from blackjack. Using both Active sync and the missing sync (MAC Sync program) it shows the file are there but when I go to the files location from the blackjack it doesn't show. Is there some kind of hidden files and folder option in the blackjack the I have to enable to view these files?
