prob with downloaded ringtone/graphic

I just got my BJ yesterday. I downloaded a graphic and a ringtone from Cingular.com. I went to My Documents to apply the ringtone, but when I highlight the ringtone and click on menu and click "set as", the 3 options (home screen, caller id,and ringtone) are greyed out. I am unable to choose any of them.

Also when I try to download the graphic, I get a message that says "an unexpected error has been detected."

Cingular tech support simply say they dont know what the problem is and tell me to go to the cingular store.

Send a message via Yahoo to Mladner

It may because its in the wrong format for the blackjack or somthing like that. They are having the same problem with the a707 with them. They are letting you download things that are not compatible with the phone. Dont even worry about getting your ringtones from cingular just use your own and put them on the phone its really easy to do. Just sync your phone up with activesync open the explorer icon in activesync. When that is open your going to open up my windows mobile based device. Then your going to drop your mp3's into the my documents folder.

Thank you for that information! I am going to try that. The only thing is that sometimes you really dont want the beginning of the song to be your ringtone.I really appreciate the info.

I used to use Winamp to convert MP3's to WAV's, then use Microsoft Sound Recorder to cut out whatever part of the song I wanted for a ringtone. I forget now how to re-convert it to an MP3 though. I thought I did that in Winamp too, but can't do it now for some reason.

Just noticed this thread too...

Looks promising.
