Just started using my new 7290.

I am doing 3 full discharges to condition the battery, as per Mark Rejhon.

Question: does charging via the power have any advantage over charging via the synch cord?

If you are doing three full discharges, then you are the only one (in spite of what my friend Mark says). I don't know ANYONE who has done that.

THe wall outlet charger appears to charge the unit faster than the USB sync cabled to a PC or laptop.

Are you saying that no one does three full discharges because:

1. they just did not make the time and the effort because they were lazy, OR

2. they did not believe that doing three full discharges had any advantages, OR

3. they believed that doing three full discharges had definite harmful effects?
