Unlocking Blackberry 7290

Could you please help me unlock my US T-Mobile BLACKBERRY 7290. I've moved out of states and i can not use my phone with any other network. It would be really great if you could help me with that.

Contact T-Mobile; if you are still a customer in good standing they will give you the unlock code. If not, you will need to contact http://www.bongowireless.com and work with them.

Good luck..

Thanks for reply but i'm not using T-Mobile anymore. I checked with "Bongowireless" but looks like i need to send my phone there to get it fixed. Is there any way that i could get the code without sending the set?!

Cingular Unlock for BB7290??

I am in the same boat, in fact, I am on the phone right now fighting with Cingular to give it up? Is there any LEGAL argument that I can use to get this out of them? How can they keep my phone from working??? It woudl be like buying a TV and hooking into DirectTV and then deciding you want Cable instead and DirectTV says F-U go buy a new TV then! Can't be right....

THANKS!

No, there is nothing illegal about locking a phone. They lock it because they subsidize the purchase price. So they want you to use their service. I personally think it is bad business for them not to unlock it, but it isn't illegal. Your phone works fine - but only on their network. It's like telling DirecTV that you don't want to use their service - make your DirecTV dish work with, well, Dish Network. Not going to happen, is it?

The only game in town.
