Question How do I do a "hard-reset" to clear all personal data

I am giving up the BB and want to clear all my stuff off of it. How do I do this? I tried the reset button under the back cover, but that appears to be only a soft reset.

BTW, I have the 6280 model if that makes a difference.

Thank you for the help.

Set a password in Options / Security
Enter the password incorrectly 10 times - follow the prompts. After the 10th time, the BB will wipe out all customer data.

Thanks for the help. I never would have figured that one out on my own.

Try Option->Security->Wipe Handheld

That only works on v3.8 or higher, which I felt was unlikely on a 6280.

Forgot the lock code....

Ok, if I do the above listed "enter it wrong 10 times" and it erases all the data, will it also reset the lock code the the default code? or will I still be stuck with a lock code that has been changed and I don't know it?

Thanks,
papa

OK, since nobody wanted to answer, I did it anyway; it worked just fine, the security code is gone and all the data is erased. I can now use the phone as if it were a new, out-of-the-box phone.

Thanks for your timely responses
papa
