7730?

I've been looking around for the 7730, supposed to be carried by T-Mobile but I dont see it around anywhere. Anyone know when it'll come out?

*Supposedly* it should be released next week by T-Mobile. At least that's what I've been told...

I have seen a couple posted on eBay, but I'm not sure how that works with T-Mobile not yet releasing them in the US. The seller claims that there is a $200 rebate available with certain activation/contract requirements.

T-Mobile has traditionally only included a WAP browser. Nextel includes a full browser because the 7510s have a full TCP/IP stack, while the GSM and CDMA devices do not have the full stack.

I don't believe the 7730s will have a full browser.

7510:
Pros:
Full IP stack, which means you can run WebViewer, etc. without a BES
Push to Talk
Great speakerphone - a really great speakerphone
Fast - it has two processors

Cons:
Awful battery life. Less than one day for some people.
No traditional "SMS"
North America only (and Mexico and a few other places)

7730
Pros:
GSM/GPRS is the worldwide standard; will work as a phone in 250+ countries and as a BlackBerry in 40+/- countries
Larger screen
Better backlighting
Better battery life

Cons:
Never really handled one - they're not formally out yet. Saw one once and it's cool.
No speakerphone
No PTT
Larger form factor (many like the smaller 7200/7500 size)

That's all I can come up with off the top of my head...

hmmm 7510 seems to have alot more going than the 7730. i thought as time progressed, technology is supposed to become better. damn money grubbing companies. i dont understand why they didn't just take the 7510 and just improve it. how fast is the internet on the 7510? is it like the sidekick, mad slow?

The 7510 is great if you never leave North America, and get good Nextel coverage where you are. The carriers write the specifications for the devices and RIM builds them. Much as I like the 7510, it is useless to me since I travel outside of the US frequently.

Fast is a relative term. GPRS realistically gives you 30-40 kbps; CDMA realistically gives you 70-80 kbps. I don't remember what iDen (Nextel) tested at. Forget rated speeds (CDMA is 120-144 kbps theoretically).
