I have a BB 7280 and my Home Office IT department has setup security profiles. They are a pain, in that they lock the BB when not used for a short duration, requiring entering a password. They also pushed a standard blurb for the owner info.

Is there any program that could be run which would allow me to make changes to the profile and if possible, still appear as the desingated profile back at our home office?

NOTE: I am the local IT person for our field office and I know how to protect my BB so I don't need these over-intrusive measures of the default profile.

My guess is that you can't do that. I'm in the same boat in that they require us to have those things setup. Once thing I did discover which saves time is that to unlock the device you can just type your password and hit the key. I had been hitting the jog dial, then selecting unlock, then typing the code. Then just make sure you pick a password thats easy to type in quickly.

Are you able to change the time before it locks, or do they control that as well?

30 minutes max. I can choose shorter but not longer. I had already found out that shortcut about just typing the PW, but thanks for pointing it out, others may not have known.
