Blackberries used to be ugly and boring and only used by corporate executives to get access to the best push email system on the planet. Well times are changing. The Blackberry Storm is one of the sexiest PDAPhones out there and is packed with a lot of bells and whistles that are sure to change the minds of those that still think Blackberries are boring. The question is whether RIM has maintained their leadership in text entry while shifting to the door wedged open by the
iPhone.
First off, the big bright touch screen changes the method of navigation. The storm has a 528Mhz
Processor that should provide plenty of power for the new features. Multi-tasking is also easy as the Storm will let you continue to browse the internet while taking phone calls, or maintain GPS navigation while calling as well. Note that GPS navigation is still unavailable on the
iPhone and something that is critical to my personal requirements for a PDAPhone.
If you want multi-media, the Storm is packing a 3.2 megapixel digital camera with autofocus and autoflash. It also will capture videos. The Storm will also sync with iTunes and allow you to store your favorite music on a microSD card. And if you want to stream video from YouTube, the Storm is up for the task. The Storm also provides GPS capability and navigation and location based services with Blackberry maps.
